Tide Clock

The Earth rotates on itself every 24 hours (almost exactly) but the Moon orbits the Earth every 24.84 hours. As we know, the Moon (and to a smaller degree, the Sun) is the cause of tides on Earth. This clock has a mechanism that works on a lunar orbit time. Whilst the actual calculation of the prediction of the tides is quite complex, this clock works amazingly well. You simply set the clock to high tide to coincide with published high tide time in you area and start it up. It will give you reliable tide readout for a long time before it needs readjustment.
